Typical carbon content: 0.25–0.60%. Tensile strength: 400–700 MPa; yield strength: 250–500 MPa; elongation: 10–25%. The bars have good machinability, moderate hardness, and good weldability in low-carbon types. Increased carbon content provides better wear resistance and strength.
