Chung Metal supplies Forgings of Inconel in numerous grades (e.g., 625, 617, 718, etc.) with forged components possessing high mechanical properties, strength, and reliability. Forging increases grain flow, minimizes internal defects, and enhances fatigue strength. Our forgings of Inconel are finished and heat treated with caution to fulfill stringent industrial specifications. These forged rods/bars find applications in parts experiencing high stress, temperature, or corrosive conditions, wherein strength along with corrosion resistance and oxidation tolerance is needed.
The forgings’ composition is a function of the alloy grade employed (nickel base, chromium, molybdenum, cobalt, aluminum, titanium etc.). Higher yield strength, enhanced ductility, and improved fatigue strength are offered by forged structure as compared to wrought or casting equivalents. Tensile strengths usually between 700‑1,400 MPa based on alloy and temper; yield strength comparable. Elongations are dependent on section size and processing. Good creep resistance at elevated temperatures, oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance.

Post-forging operations for Inconel include heat treatment (solution annealing and aging) and machining to achieve desired properties and dimensions.
The processing method for Inconel forgings involves high-temperature forging, followed by heat treatment and machining to achieve desired properties and dimensions.
Inconel forgings require minimal maintenance, with periodic inspections for wear, stress, or surface damage to ensure continued performance.
Applies in aerospace, power generation, oil & gas, chemical processing, and marine industry for parts like shafts, couplings, turbine discs, valve bodies, fasteners, and structural components subjected to severe environments. Forged Inconel components are selected for safety-critical, high load carrying, or high temperature applications. Also used where mechanical vibrations or cyclical loading is involved, owing to the improved toughness provided by forging.
