Nickel Alloy 200 is made of a minimum of 99% nickel with residual amounts of iron, copper, carbon, and manganese. This pure alloy gives tensile strength of about 450 MPa, yield strength of about 150 MPa, and elongation of up to 45% in the annealed condition. It has good toughness and ductility even at cryogenic temperatures. Electrical conductivity is good, but thermal conductivity provides effective heat transfer. The alloy has excellent resistance to caustic alkalis, neutral salts, and dry gases and can be used in chemical as well as thermal systems. It is non-magnetic in the annealed state.
