Nickel Alloy 201 is comprised of ≥99% nickel with not more than 0.02% carbon, providing superior resistance to graphitization at high temperatures. It provides tensile strength of about 420 MPa, yield strength of about 140 MPa, and elongation of up to 50%. Intergranular corrosion is avoided in the low carbon content, especially in high-temperature use. It retains superior thermal and electric conductance and possesses high impact resistance even at sub-zero temperatures. The alloy is not magnetic when in the annealed condition and possesses a density of about 8.9 g/cm³. It can be easily shaped, machined, and welded.
