C17200 has ~1.8–2.1% beryllium with trace cobalt, nickel, or related elements. Ultimate tensile strength in peak aged states may exceed ~1,300–1,500 MPa; yield strength frequently >1,100 MPa. Hardness is elevated (typically in the upper ranges of Rockwell or Brinell scale). Elongation is low in hardest tempers (often single-digit percent), although softer tempers have improved ductility. Electrical conductivity is lower in hardened forms (typically ~20–30% IACS, sometimes more so in softer states). Excellent dimensional stability, fatigue resistance, and wear resistance make it a best selection for challenging cycles.
