Chung Metal supplies C17500 rods and bars, a beryllium copper alloy optimized for a balance of electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. Delivered in certified forms and with exacting dimensional and metallurgical control, this alloy is able to support clients requiring consistent performance under stress. C17500 has ~0.9–1.2% beryllium in copper with small additions to improve properties. Heat-treated strengths are tensile ~800–1,100 MPa depending on temper, and yield strengths correspondingly high. Hardness is high, although elongation is more restricted in the harder tempers. Electrical conductivity is still good (often ~20–50% IACS depending on temper). Excellent fatigue resistance, wear properties, and dimensional stability.
