Chung Metal manufactures high-quality Tantalum R05255 Bars and Rods, with 10% tungsten for improved mechanical properties and excellent heat resistance. Engineered to withstand the most extreme environments, R05255 retains excellent corrosion resistance and possesses better strength, particularly under thermal cycling. It is usually used in critical industrial and aerospace components. Chung Metal offers this grade in forged or machined conditions, ideal for severe applications demanding both strength and chemical stability.
R05255 is composed of ~90% tantalum and ~10% tungsten. The alloy has higher tensile strength (~600–700 MPa) and yield strength (~400 MPa), with elongation of about 20–30%. It resists severe thermal stress, is highly ductile, and resists most of the acids, such as hydrochloric and nitric acids. Its high melting point (>3,000°C) makes it suitable for high-temperature applications.
