Nitronic 40 contains chromium, nickel, manganese, and nitrogen with molybdenum additions under control. It has greater strength than 304/316 stainless steel with tensile strength of up to 900 MPa and 400–600 MPa yield strength. The alloy retains toughness and ductility over a broad temperature range down to sub-zero temperatures. It is non-magnetic and has excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance.
