Chung Metal supplies an extensive selection of Nitronic Bars and Rods that are produced in Da Nang, Vietnam. Nitronic is a trademarked name for a series of nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steels that provide a superior balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and toughness. These steels have better mechanical and chemical properties than common grades such as 304 and 316. Chung Metal offers Nitronic bars and rods in multiple grades and sizes, all manufactured to precision standards to provide perfect surface finish, accuracy of dimensions, and high wear and corrosion resistance.
Nitronic alloys are 18–23% chromium, 8–14% nickel-containing, high-nitrogen stainless steels with molybdenum and manganese additions. Nitronic grades give 304 and 316 twice the yield strength with tensile strength to 1000 MPa. They are non-magnetic and possess good resistance to pitting, stress corrosion, and galling. The addition of nitrogen strengthens without losing ductility, hence suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications.

Yes, Nitronic bars, such as Nitronic 50 and Nitronic 60, can be welded using standard welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), with appropriate filler material.
Suitable welding processes for Nitronic bars include TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and stick welding, with proper filler materials to ensure strong, corrosion-resistant joints.
Nitronic rods are available in a range of sizes, typically from 1/8" to 12" in diameter. Common finishes include hot-rolled, cold-rolled, polished, and machined, depending on the application.
Nitronic bars and rods are employed in offshore hardware, pump and valve parts, food processing, oil & gas, and chemical plants. They are especially appreciated for applications demanding high strength and corrosion resistance without the necessity of costly nickel alloys. Nitronic is employed in aerospace parts, shafts, pins, and non-magnetic uses. The alloy exhibits good performance under mechanical stress and corrosive conditions, thus being suitable for submerged or offshore structures.
