Chung Metal provides Nitronic 60 Rods and Bars, a resistant stainless steel wear alloy for eliminating galling and seizing in severe pressure. Produced in Da Nang, Vietnam, Nitronic 60 provides excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance and higher mechanical properties. It performs better than regular stainless steels in metal-to-metal wear operations and is thus a preferred option for dynamic applications and heavy-duty components. Our bars and rods are made to order to provide superior strength, surface finish, and machinability.
Nitronic 60 contains around 16–18% chromium, 8–9% nickel, and additions of manganese, silicon, and nitrogen. It provides tensile strength of 700–1000 MPa and yield strength of up to 500 MPa with good wear and oxidation resistance up to 980°C. It possesses better galling resistance than 304 and 316 stainless steels under even dry sliding conditions. The alloy does not become magnetic and can be welded.
