Chung Metal distributes Copper C10700 Bars and Rods, an oxygen-free copper alloy with controlled silver content. The addition of silver increases the resistance of the alloy to softening at higher temperatures while maintaining superior electrical and thermal conductivity. These rods and bars are engineered specifically for demanding electrical applications where conductivity, strength, and thermal stability are crucial. Our C10700 products are accurately fabricated and tested for purity and performance to meet the needs of demanding industrial settings.
C10700 has ≥99.95% copper and minor amounts of silver (about 0.03–0.07%). Oxygen content is very low. Electrical conductivity is 100–101% IACS, and thermal conductivity is high, about 385 W/m·K. Tensile strength is between 220–260 MPa, with excellent elongation and formability. The alloy has good mechanical stability at high temperatures, opposing recrystallization more than pure copper.
