Chung Metal produces Copper C12000 Bars and Rods for industrial and architectural applications that demand consistent conductivity, corrosion resistance, and better weldability. C12000 is a phosphorus-deoxidized copper having low residual phosphorus content and thus provides higher workability and structure stability under high temperatures. Our products are made with close tolerance dimensions and fine grain structure, which is ideal for brazing, welding, and forming. These rods and bars are ideal for general-purpose electrical and plumbing work.
C12000 contains about 99.9% copper and 0.004–0.012% phosphorus. Electrical conductivity is generally 97–100% IACS. Tensile strength is 200–280 MPa based on temper, yield strength 80–150 MPa, and elongation is about 30–50%. The alloy is resistant to corrosion and cold workability is good. The presence of phosphorus prevents hydrogen embrittlement and enhances performance in joining operations.
