C10940 generally has ~99.5% copper and ~0.04–0.06% phosphorus. Tensile strength is ~200–280 MPa; yield strength ~70–110 MPa; elongation about 30–45%. The conductivity is ~85–90% IACS. Phosphorus content increases the oxidation resistance as well as inhibits embrittlement when brazing or welding. It retains structural integrity against thermal cycling.
