What is Titanium Bars and Rods?

Titanium rods and bars are available in several grades such as CP Grades 1–4 and alloyed Grades 5, 7, 9, 11, etc. Composition ranges from unrestrained titanium (~99.5%) to alloys with aluminum, vanadium, palladium, nickel, and other additions. Mechanical properties range from tensile strengths of 240 MPa (Grade 1) up to 1000+ MPa (Grade 5), depending on yield strength and elongation of the grade. All have good strength-to-weight ratios, low density (~4.5 g/cm³), corrosion resistance, and thermal stability. They are amenable to forming, welding, and machining using specialized methods.
