Chung Metal provides Inconel 600 Bars and Rods, a nickel-chromium alloy possessing high corrosion and heat resistance with good mechanical properties. Alloy 600 finds use where there is both temperature and oxidizing or mild reducing conditions present, and where maximum resistance to scaling, creep, and oxidation is required. Our bars/rods of 600 are produced with uniform chemistry, good manufacturability, and surface finish to fulfill industrial and chemical application requirements.
Common composition: ~72% nickel, ~14‑17% chromium, balance predominantly iron, trace amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon. Tensile strength ~550‑700 MPa depending on annealed or cold‑worked condition; yield strength less; elongation reasonable (~30‑50%) depending on condition. High resistance to oxidation and scaling at high temperatures, up to around 1000‑1100 °C in some atmospheres. Creep strength moderate; hardness moderate in annealed condition. Good weldability and ductility.
