Chung Metal produces Inconel 718 Bars and Rods, a precipitation‑hardenable nickel‑chromium superalloy that possesses high tensile strength, superior creep strength, and excellent performance over an extensive range of temperatures. Alloy 718 is extensively utilized in aerospace, gas turbines, nuclear, and structural applications owing to the fact that it can sustain strength and toughness from cryogenic to approximately 700 °C. Our 718 rods/bars are aged, heat treated, and manufactured to high chemical and mechanical specifications for reliable and durable performance in challenging environments.
Composition: approximately 50‑55% nickel, 17‑21% chromium, 2.8‑3.3% molybdenum, 4.75‑5.50% niobium (columbium) + tantalum, with titanium (~0.65‑1.15%), aluminum (~0.2‑0.8%), along with small quantities of iron, cobalt, manganese, silicon, carbon etc. In aged (T6 / peak aged) condition, representative tensile strength ~1250‑1350 MPa, yield strength ~1000‑1200 MPa, elongation ~12‑25%. Good fatigue, creep, rupture strength; retains strength at elevated temperature (~650‑700 °C). Density ~8.19 g/cm³. Good weldability and toughness.
