Haynes 214 Bars and Rods are produced and supplied by Chung Metal, a nickel-based, high-temperature oxidation-resistant advanced alloy used in structural applications. Alloy 214 has been designed with the ability to withstand continuous oxidizing exposures up to 1260°C. It provides superior scale resistance, stability, and mechanical strength. Alloy 214 is used extensively in thermal processing, industrial furnaces, and chemical plants. Our Haynes 214 products are produced under stringent metallurgical control with exceptional surface finish and size integrity, ideal for cyclic or continuous high-temperature-exposure components.
Haynes 214 has ~75% nickel, ~16% chromium, ~4.5% aluminum, ~3% iron, and trace yttrium and silicon. It has very good high-temperature oxidation resistance because of the development of a protective alumina layer. Tensile strength is ~700 MPa, yield strength ~350 MPa, and elongation ~25%. Density is on the order of 7.8 g/cm³. The alloy has very good thermal fatigue resistance, good formability, and weldability. Its protective oxide scale develops rapidly and remains adherent under severe thermal cycling.
To maintain Haynes 214 bars, avoid high-temperature oxidation, clean regularly, store in a dry, controlled environment, and inspect for signs of wear or corrosion to ensure long-lasting performance.
Yes, Haynes 214 rods can be customized in size and length according to specific requirements. Suppliers typically offer fabrication services to meet desired dimensions for various applications.
Haynes 214 bars and rods excel in high-temperature environments due to their exceptional oxidation and thermal stability, maintaining strength and resistance to creep, making them ideal for extreme heat applications.
Haynes 214 bars and rods are utilized in radiant heating systems, furnace hardware for industry, thermal reactors, reformers, and air heaters. It’s best suited for parts like burner heads, grids, manifolds, and supports exposed to oxidizing gases. In power generation and metallurgical processing, it offers good protection from oxidation and scaling. The alloy is also well suited for heat shields and insulating hardware in aerospace and rocket engine systems. Its resistance to oxidation at very high temperatures provides for longer component life and less maintenance.
