Chung Metal at Da Nang, Vietnam, supplies Haynes 617 Bars and Rods—a high temperature strength nickel‑chromium‑cobalt‑molybdenum superalloy with oxidation resistance and capability to withstand both thermal and mechanical loading. The alloy is made for severe service where there is prolonged high temperature and corrosive or oxidizing conditions. Our Haynes 617 bars/rods are manufactured with controlled alloying, suitable forging or wrought methods, and heat treatment to provide grain stability, toughness, and dimensional integrity. They are applied where high temperature cycle reliability is critical.
Haynes 617 usually contains roughly 52‑60% nickel, 20‑24% chromium, 8‑10% molybdenum, 10‑15% cobalt, together with minor amounts of aluminum and titanium for oxidation protection and creep strengthening; also trace elements in minute quantities. It is solid‑solution strengthened (and not age hardened), and in wrought or annealed form provides tensile strengths typically in the range of ~800‑1,000 MPa (temper and cross-section dependent), yield strength somewhat lower, and elongation in the range of ~20‑35%. It shows good strength even at high temperatures (up to ~1,000‑1,100 °C), and its oxidation/oxidizing corrosion resistance is high.
Yes, Haynes 617 rods can be customized in both size and length according to specific requirements. Customization is available through manufacturers or suppliers who offer tailored solutions.
Haynes 617 bars and rods offer excellent performance in high-temperature environments, with outstanding oxidation and corrosion resistance, maintaining strength and stability up to 1,250°C (2,300°F), making them ideal for aerospace and industrial applications.
To maintain Haynes 617 bars, avoid exposure to high temperatures for extended periods, regularly clean with non-abrasive methods, and inspect for corrosion or wear to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Haynes 617 Bars and Rods have extensive use in the aerospace, power generation, chemical process, and industrial furnace applications. Typical applications include gas turbine components (such as combustor liners, transition ducts, and turbine shroud sections), heat exchanger tubing, furnace retorts, exhaust manifolds, and process piping in high temperature corrosive service. Further used in petrochemical, refining, and nuclear processes where the combined exposures of high temperature, stress, and corrosive media affect alloy stability. Due to its weldability and formability, it’s selected for structural, boiler and hot section components that must have long life in harsh environments.
