Da Nang, Vietnam-headquartered Chung Metal supplies Haynes 282 Bars and Rods, a nickel-based superalloy designed for long-term high-temperature properties, thermal stability, and weldability. With exceptional creep strength in the temperature range of 650–980°C, Haynes 282 exhibits stability and mechanical characteristics in tough thermal conditions. It is therefore best suited for use in aerospace, power generation, and high-performance combustion parts. Our Haynes 282 materials are produced with close dimensional tolerances, consistent chemical composition, and high surface finish, making them dependable in structure and heat-stressed parts where long-term integrity is an essential requirement.
Haynes 282 consists mainly of nickel (~57–60%), with notable additions of chromium (~19–21%), cobalt (~10%), molybdenum (~8–9%), titanium (~2.1–2.3%), and aluminum (~1.4–1.6%). Trace elements are boron, silicon, and carbon (~0.05%). The alloy provides tensile strength of around 840 MPa in annealed condition, with yield strength around 380 MPa and elongation of about 55–60%. On age-hardening, the strength is enhanced considerably with tensile values over 1100 MPa. Haynes 282 also has excellent oxidation resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, and good weldability with minimal cracking or deformation.
Haynes 282 bars typically come in both rough and smooth finishes. The rough finish is usually as-rolled, while the smooth finish is achieved through processes like machining or polishing.
Yes, Haynes 282 rods can be customized in both size and length according to specific requirements, ensuring optimal performance for various applications and industries. Customization options vary by supplier.
Haynes 282 bars and rods offer exceptional strength, oxidation, and corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments, maintaining stability up to 1,800°F (982°C), making them ideal for aerospace and turbine applications.
Haynes 282 Bars and Rods are also extensively used in aerospace and industrial gas turbines, such as combustors, transition ducts, exhaust systems, and turbine cases. It is stable at high temperatures and has a good resistance to creep in the long term, making it ideal for high-efficiency power generation equipment and energy recovery devices. It is also applied in petrochemical processing, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels under extreme conditions. The weldability and formability of the alloy enable simple fabrication, which is a desirable quality for engineers designing components experiencing extended high-temperature service and mechanical loading.

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
