Chung Metal supplies Stainless Steel 304L Forgings, the low-carbon version of 304 for welded and forged use where intergranular corrosion is to be prevented. 304L forgings exhibit superior fabricability, weldability, and overall corrosion resistance in normal environments. Our forgings yield clean, dense products with limited inclusions and consistent traceability. 304L forgings are utilized by food processing, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and architectural engineering industries for parts that require safe corrosion performance and robust mechanical characteristics. Size, finish and certification levels are fulfilled as per customers’ specifications.
SS 304L typically consists of ~18‑20% chromium, ~8‑12% nickel, carbon ≤ 0.03‑0.04%, in addition to Mn, Si, P, S in small quantities. In annealed forged form it contains tensile strength ~485‑620 MPa, yield ~170‑275 MPa, elongation ~40‑50%. It has good ductility and toughness. Hardness moderate. Corrosion resistance in general, mildly acidic, and atmospheric situations is excellent. Forge structure provides better grain structure and strength uniformity. Weldability and formability very good.
