Chung Metal makes forgings of Stainless Steel 310S, an austenitic alloy that is resistant to high temperatures for components operating in oxidative, high-temperature conditions. Made under close control, our 310S forgings supply dimensions, certification, and structural quality required by furnace, power, and petrochemical industries.
SS 310S has ~24–26% chromium, ~19–22% nickel, and ≤0.08% carbon. It has superior high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance to ~1,100–1,150 °C. Tensile strength ~520–700 MPa, yield ~205–375 MPa, elongation ~30–40%. Low carbon minimizes risk of sensitization and enhances weldability. Forging improves microstructure and provides high-temperature creep resistance.

To assess the forging strength of Stainless Steel 310S for aerospace, perform mechanical testing such as tensile, hardness, and fatigue tests to ensure it meets required specifications for high-temperature and stress-resistance.
The most suitable forging techniques for Stainless Steel 310S include open-die forging and closed-die forging, which offer excellent control over shape and material properties, ensuring strength and durability.
To improve the surface finish of forged Stainless Steel 310S parts, employ methods like machining, polishing, abrasive blasting, or electropolishing to achieve a smooth, corrosion-resistant surface.
Utilized for furnace parts, radiant tubes, boiler fittings, heat exchanger headers, piping in thermal power plants, and exhaust systems. Also in petrochemical reactors, kiln brackets, and industrial furnaces. The alloy withstands cyclic heating, oxidation, and scaling, so 310S forgings are perfect in thermal and high-temperature construction.

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
