Chung Metal supplies Stainless Steel 310 Forgings, a high‑temperature austenitic alloy offering superior resistance to scaling and oxidation. 310 is applied in furnaces, heat treatment, kilns, and combustion equipment. Forged 310 parts from Chung Metal contain improved grain structures, certified chemistry, and superior mechanical stability. We provide forgings like flanges, rings, valve bodies, and other components that require strength along with resistance to high temperatures. Applications include power generation, petrochemical, furnace assembly, and metal processing, which demand 310 forgings due to their endurance at high heat and thermal cycling.
Stainless Steel 310 has ~25‑26% chromium, ~19‑22% nickel, ≤ ~0.25% carbon, and trace amounts of manganese and silicon. It is not heat-hardenable but has good creep and oxidation resistance to ~1100‑1150°C (service dependent). Tensile strength room temperature ~550‑700 MPa, yield ~200‑300 MPa, elongation ~30‑40%. Forging reduces grain size, enhancing high temperature strength and toughness. Good resistance to scaling and carburization; weldability moderate, but special procedures can be necessary in heavy cross-sections.

Temperature control during forging of Stainless Steel 310 ensures proper grain structure, enhancing its strength and resistance to oxidation. It also minimizes the risk of defects, ensuring consistent quality and performance in high-temperature applications.
Assess the forging strength of Stainless Steel 310 for aerospace by conducting tensile, fatigue, and hardness tests, ensuring uniform grain structure and high-temperature resistance.
Stainless Steel 310 Forgings require minimal maintenance, typically involving regular cleaning to prevent buildup and periodic inspections for signs of wear or corrosion, especially in high-temperature environments.
310 Forgings are utilized in furnace equipment (plating, muffles, radiant tubes), combustion chambers, exhaust manifolds, heat treating machines, and cookware equipment subjected to high temperature. Also used in boiler burner components, industrial ovens, kiln supports, and in petrochemical processing equipment with high temperature gas flow. Parts like valve bodies, rings forged, transition pieces experiencing high heat are favored by 310. Due to its resistance to oxidation, 310 forgings are preferred in glass production, foundries, and thermal shock industries.
