Chung Metal provides Stainless Steel 316 forgings as a general-purpose corrosion-resistant austenitic alloy for various industrial applications. SS 316 has ~16–18% chromium, ~10–14% nickel, ~2–3% molybdenum. Mechanical properties: tensile ~515–700 MPa, yield ~205–300 MPa, elongation ~40%, hardness moderate. It possesses superior corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-containing surroundings, and toughness and weldability. Forged shapes provide better fatigue and structural strength.
