Stainless Steel 904L forging is composed of about 23-28% chromium, 4.5-5.5% nickel, 1.5-2.5% molybdenum, 0.2-0.4% copper and small amounts of carbon, silicon, manganese , and phosphorus This alloy provides exceptional corrosion resistance, especially to sulfuric acid, and insoluble with chloride stress. Its mechanical properties include tensile strength of 520-750 MPa, yield strength of 240 MPa and elongation of 40-50%. High nickel content improves ductility, while molybdenum increases resistance to pitting and cracking and corrosion. The hardness of the product remains good even under cryogenic conditions, making it suitable for complex applications.
