Chung Metal offers durable Stainless Steel 347H Flat Bars, capable of providing high-temperature strength as well as enhanced creep resistance. SS 347H is the carbon-enriched version of SS 347, tailored for pressure equipment and structural components in high heat environments. These flat bars are commonly utilized in boilers, superheaters, and heat-exposed mechanical frames. Chung Metal produces 347H flat bars with great dimensional control and surface finish. Their long-term thermal exposure and stress performance make them a safe bet for rigorous applications in energy, petrochemical, and thermal process systems.
SS 347H has 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and 0.04–0.10% carbon with niobium stabilization. It provides tensile strength of 550–750 MPa, yield strength of 200–300 MPa, and elongation of 30–40%. SS 347H sustains performance up to 900°C, with resistance to creep and intergranular corrosion. It is weldable and non-magnetic. The flat bar profile provides structure reliability in assemblies under high thermal and mechanical stress. Chung Metal supplies these bars in industrial-grade sizes for welded and heat-affected components.

The primary alloying element in Stainless Steel 347H is niobium (Nb), which stabilizes the material against carbide precipitation during welding and high-temperature exposure. This enhances its resistance to intergranular corrosion and improves its overall high-temperature strength.
Stainless Steel 347H is most suitable for applications in the temperature range of 800°C to 1500°F (427°C to 815°C). This range allows it to maintain its strength, corrosion resistance, and stability, particularly in high-temperature environments like furnaces.
Typical dimensions of a Stainless Steel 347H flat bar range from 0.25 inches (6 mm) to 6 inches (150 mm) in thickness and 1 inch (25 mm) to 12 inches (300 mm) in width. Custom sizes are also available.
347H flat bars are applied in pressure vessels, superheater tubes, welded boiler constructions, heat shields, and refinery plant equipment. High thermal load capacity makes them suitable for petrochemical facilities, power generation, and steam systems. The flat shape allows for easy incorporation into structural frames, skid-mounted systems, and machined thermal components. SS 347H is used where welding and long-term temperature exposure are needed. Chung Metal provides these bars in tailored sizes and heat-treated conditions for operating in hostile industrial conditions.
