Chung Metal provides Stainless Steel 310S square rods and bars, a high-temperature austenitic stainless steel with low carbon used for scaling and oxidation resistance. 310S can be well applied to parts that are subjected to thermal cycling and high heat. Our stock of square bar and rods is produced to close tolerances, certified mechanical specifications, and high surface finish. Furnace, petrochemical, power generation, and heat treatment industries depend on 310S square stock for structural parts, supports, and high-temperature parts. With thermal stability, these bars work well in harsh conditions.
SS 310S has ~24–26% chromium, ~19–22% nickel, and ≤ 0.08% carbon. It has superior creep strength and oxidation resistance up to ~1,100–1,150 °C. Tensile strength ~515–740 MPa, yield ~205–375 MPa, elongation ~40%. Hardness moderate. Low carbon content avoids precipitation of carbides and enhances weldability, making it viable for high-temperature structural parts. It remains ductile and tough under thermal stress, with satisfactory fatigue life in cyclic heating.
