SS 904L has 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, and minor copper additions. It possesses tensile strength 490–740 MPa, yield strength 220–300 MPa, and elongation ~35%. It is non-magnetic and provides superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and acid attack.
