Chung Metal supplies titanium-stabilized Stainless Steel 347 Square Bars and Rods, an austenitic stainless steel that is capable of resisting intergranular corrosion following welding. SS 347 possesses good mechanical strength and oxidation resistance, particularly in applications involving repeated thermal cycling. Its square bar form is suitable for structural applications, fabrication frames, as well as industrial equipment. Chung Metal produces 347 square bars with high surface quality, uniform cross-section, and corrosion resistance designed to meet chemical, petrochemical, and high-temperature services.
SS 347 has 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and titanium stabilizers. It provides tensile strength of 500–750 MPa and yield strength of 200–300 MPa, with elongation of 35–45%. It sustains strength at high temperatures (up to 870°C), is resistant to oxidation, and is non-magnetic. The square bar shape provides structural homogeneity and machinability characteristics.

Stainless Steel 347 square bars are generally resistant to galvanic corrosion due to their high chromium content. However, if exposed to a more anodic material in a corrosive environment, galvanic corrosion may still occur.
Stainless Steel 347 square bars and rods are typically non-magnetic in the annealed condition. However, they may exhibit slight magnetism if cold-worked or hardened.
Yes, Stainless Steel 347 Square Bars can be used for underground applications due to their excellent corrosion resistance and ability to withstand high temperatures. Their durability makes them suitable for harsh environments.
347 square bars/rods are employed in refineries, high-temperature piping systems, boiler casings, expansion joints, and chemical process lines. Their weld decay stabilization makes them suitable for use in furnace parts, pressure tubes, and thermal shielding. The square form is apt for machine bases, tank supports, and frameworks needing rigidity and protection against corrosion. SS 347 is applied in aircraft engines, pollution control, and heat recovery systems. 347 custom lengths and finishes of square bars in demanding chemical and thermal environments are provided by Chung Metal.
