Chung Metal Manufacturer & Suppliers in Da Nang manufactures premium-quality Alloy Steel AISI 4140 bars and rods for applications that require strength, toughness, and resistance to fatigue. Also referred to as a versatile chromoly steel, 4140 is highly performant across a broad spectrum of applications. We offer rods in various diameters, finishes, and hardness conditions, certified with comprehensive test reports and metallurgical examinations. Our extensive experience guarantees that every 4140 rod satisfies mechanical requirements and consistent microstructure. Mechanical engineering, automotive, oil & gas, and heavy machinery clients rely on our stock of 4140 to fabricate critical components.
AISI 4140 is chromium–molybdenum alloy steel with ~0.38–0.43% C, 0.80% Cr, 0.15% Mo, along with Mn, Si. Tensile strength in quenched and tempered condition is ~900–1,100 MPa, yield strength ~700–900 MPa, and elongation ~12–20%. It attains hardness ~230–300 HB or ~28–40 HRC depending on the temper. The alloy possesses good toughness, impact strength, resistance to fatigue, and machinability. It can be welded easily (with preheating), and responds favorably to case hardening or surface treatments.
