Chung Metal provides Alloy Steel F22 Bars and Rods, suited for demanding application in high temperature and high stress. F22 is an established creep‑strength enhanced ferritic steel applied in power generation and heavy industry. Our F22 bars are manufactured under rigorous process control, normalized and tempered, chemistry and mechanical properties certified. We provide rods for boiler fittings, superheater tubes, and turbine hardware. With the ability to offer custom length, finish, and pretreatment, Chung Metal provides customers with F22 stock appropriate for components that must demonstrate high thermal fatigue resistance and long lifespan in severe environments.
F22 (also P22 / 2.25Cr‑1Mo steel in most standards) has ~2.25% chromium, ~1% molybdenum, with trace residuals of elements such as V, N, Si, etc., balanced by iron. Normalized and tempered, tensile strength ~550‑700 MPa, yield ~350‑500 MPa, elongation ~15‑25%. Hardness moderate (commonly ~200‑260 HB or ~20‑25 HRC depending on cross‑section and treatment). Good creep strength at intermediate elevated temperatures (≈500‑600°C), good toughness, weldability with pre‑/post‑heat treatments, and good fatigue strength.

F22 performs appropriately in applications where there is a need for a combination of strength, creep life, and cost savings relative to more unusual alloys.
