Alloy Steel F12 is a low alloy steel — approximately equivalent to other creep-strength enhanced ferritic/martensitic steels — containing additions such as chromium, molybdenum, perhaps tungsten or vanadium, as specified. Exact composition also varies with supplier. Usually tensile strength is in moderate range (≈450‑600 MPa), yield perhaps 250‑400 MPa, with elongation ~15‑25%. Hardness is a function of heat treatment, but less than high‑chrome martensitic steels. It provides reasonable creep resistance, thermal stability up to moderate high temperatures (several hundred °C), and acceptable weldability with suitable pre/post heat treatments.
