F1 is utilized by customers in energy, manufacturing, and chemical processing where environment is slightly higher, but extreme high-temperature alloy steels are not required.
F1 Alloy Steel is a lower alloy steel; its composition may be similar to Cr‑Mo steels with relatively low levels of alloying (e.g. Cr ~1‑2%, Mo ~0.2‑0.5%, etc.), depending on specification. Mechanical properties: tensile strength perhaps ~450‑600 MPa, yield ~250‑400 MPa, elongation ~20‑25%. Good toughness, average hardness, and acceptable creep resistance at lower elevated temperatures. Hardening feasible through heat treatment. Weldability relatively good with proper pre‑ and post‑treatment. These are non‑supercritical service steels.
