Chung Metal supplies Alloy Steel F92 Bars and Rods, one of the more sophisticated creep-strength improved steels utilized in high pressure and high temperature steam conditions. Developed to replace even F91 in certain ultra‑supercritical boiler uses, F92 provides superior strength and thermal creep and oxidation resistance. Our manufacture provides accurate chemistry, normalized and tempered state, and proper heat treatment. Power generation, petrochemical, waste‐to‐energy, and energy transition industry customers depend on F92 inventory for components subject to aggressive thermal and mechanical cycling. We offer full test certification and sizes accommodating demanding fabrication.
F92 is a molybdenum alloy with high chromium content (~9%), along with additions such as vanadium, niobium, nitrogen, and at times tungsten, with carbon content of ~0.10‑0.20%. F92 possesses more creep strength compared to F91, with tensile strength generally in excess of ~700‑800 MPa, yield ~450‑600 MPa, elongation ~15‑20%. After heat treatment, the hardness is high, and at high temperatures (~600‑700°C), it possesses strength. It has better oxidation resistance, thermal fatigue life, and improved long‑term service stability. Welding and processing are handled with care because of alloying complexity.

Alloy Steel F92 Bars and Rods primarily consist of chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium, which provide excellent strength, heat resistance, and high-temperature performance.
These bars and rods are widely used in power generation, aerospace, petrochemical, and manufacturing industries for components exposed to high temperatures and pressure.
Alloy Steel F92 offers high strength, resistance to creep, thermal fatigue, and oxidation, making it ideal for applications in extreme conditions.
Alloy Steel F92 Bars/Rods find applications in highest performing components of ultra‑supercritical boilers, superheaters, reheaters, headers, high temperature steam piping, and turbine components. They are selected where efficiency benefits from higher pressure and temperature are to be maintained over long periods of service. Also applied in power plant retrofits, high temperature chemical reactors, and in specialized furnace equipment. In petrochemical and petroleum refining, F92 is used in catalytic reactor tubes, thermally stressed supports, and where creep and cyclic loading durability is essential. Suitable for next-generation energy systems.
