Chung Metal provides Alloy Steel F5 Bars and Rods for customers requiring elevated temperature strength combined with moderate corrosion resistance. F5 applies for mid-level applications where mechanical strength as well as cost effectiveness are desired. We produce F5 bars with metallurgical control of quality, test reports, and finishes applicable to customer requirement. Power generation, process industries, and heavy machinery organizations use F5 stock for valve parts, connector parts, and structural supports. Our product reliability and delivery guarantee qualify F5 as a viable material for a variety of high-temperature service conditions.
Alloy Steel F5 has moderate Cr, Mo, perhaps some vanadium or other stabilizers (composition on spec). Its mechanical is between that of less complex steels and the more complex F91/92: tensile perhaps ~500‑650 MPa, yield ~300‑450 MPa, elongation 15‑25%. Hardness moderate. It has some creep resistance and thermal stability to moderate elevated temperatures (perhaps 400‑550°C), depending on exposure. Weldability and toughness are adequate; heat treatment (normalizing/tempering) will enhance performance.
