Aluminium 1050 is a 1xxx‑series commercially pure aluminium containing ≥ 99.5 % aluminium. Trace elements like iron and silicon are less than 0.4 %. Tensile strength would normally be ~70‑100 MPa; yield strength around 35‑60 MPa; elongation is good (~35‑50 %) in annealed state. Hardness is low; the alloy is soft and ductile. Good electrical and thermal conductivity. It cannot be heat treated to strengthen; strength can only be increased through cold working. Good corrosion resistance in most environments; no appreciable risk of stress corrosion cracking.
