Chung Metal offers Aluminium 7050 Bars and Rods — a high-end aviation‑grade alloy noted for strength, toughness, and stress corrosion resistance. Alloy 7050 is generally called upon where exceptional mechanical performance is required, especially in aircraft structure, aerospace structure, and high fatigue applications. Our rods and bars are manufactured in tempers that optimize strength and fracture toughness, with good finishes and precise tolerances. They find applications in industries where safety, performance and durability are critical.
Alloy 7050 typically consists of zinc (~6.2‑7.2%), magnesium (~2.3‑3.0%), copper (~2.0‑2.6%), chromium, and minor amounts of other alloying elements. In its elevated strength tempers (e.g. T7451), it provides tensile strengths in excess of ~500‑550 MPa, yield strength ~450‑500 MPa, elongation ~10‑15%. Excellent toughness and fatigue resistance. Similar hardness to other high-strength 7xxx alloys. Excellent fracture toughness and better stress corrosion resistance than some other 7xxx series alloys.

Yes, Aluminium 7050 bars are ideal for structural applications, particularly in aerospace and military sectors, offering high strength, corrosion resistance, and fatigue resistance, making them suitable for demanding environments and designs.
To maintain Aluminium 7050 bars, regularly clean them with mild soap and water to remove dirt and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals, inspect for corrosion, and store in a dry, cool environment.
Yes, Aluminium 7050 rods are highly recyclable. Aluminium, including alloy 7050, can be recycled multiple times without losing its properties, making it an environmentally friendly choice for sustainable manufacturing and use.
Applied in aircraft wing skins, fuselage bulkheads, landing gear parts, structural joints, highly stressed aircraft fittings. Also in aerospace fasteners, military aircraft, and cyclic loading parts. Suitable for missile components, helicopter rotor hubs, and high performance structural components. Due to need for toughness and fatigue life, 7050 is typically used over 7075 in some aerospace structural applications.
