Chung Metal’s Aluminium 2024 bars and rods are high-strength, aircraft-quality products mainly alloyed with copper. Made in Da Nang, the rods/bars are precision machined and finished to serve critical aerospace, defense, and structural uses. Aluminium 2024 has good fatigue resistance and high tensile strength, making it suitable for load-bearing parts. Although less corrosion resistant than other alloys, it excels in dry environments. Aluminium 2024 has around 4.4% copper, 1.5% magnesium, 0.6% manganese, and rest aluminium. It is a heat-treatable, high-strength, and fatigue-resistant alloy. Tensile strength: 470–520 MPa, yield strength: 320–400 MPa, elongation: ~10–15%. Brinell hardness: ~120–130 HB. It possesses poor corrosion resistance, particularly in marine conditions, and may need to be clad or coated. Not weldable using normal techniques. It is nevertheless lightweight, strong, and good for use in fatigue-critical parts.
