Chung Metal provides excellent Aluminium 5086 bars and rods, designed for optimal performance in marine and structural uses. Manufactured in Da Nang, Vietnam, 5086 is a non-heat-treatable aluminium-magnesium alloy with outstanding corrosion resistance, particularly against seawater and aggressive industrial environments. Our 5086 rods and bars are produced through high-tech extrusion methods that provide great surface finish, precise dimensions, and mechanical uniformity. Aluminium 5086 contains ~3.5–4.5% magnesium, 0.2–0.7% manganese, and up to 0.25% chromium. Tensile strength: ~290–350 MPa, yield strength: ~200–270 MPa, and elongation of about 10–20%. Brinell hardness: ~80 HB. Not heat-treatable but can be hardened through cold working. Provides excellent resistance to corrosion in saltwater and retains mechanical properties post-welding. 5086 demonstrates outstanding performance in sub-zero temperatures and provides good fatigue strength, thus being trustworthy for structures subjected to constant loading.
