Chung Metal supplies Aluminium 6083 Bars and Rods, an alloy of 6082 type, chosen for ideal extrusion qualities, corrosion resistance and attractive surface appearance. Alloy 6083 is used particularly in architectural and structural sections where visual appearance and robustness are necessary. The bars/rods are manufactured to be with tight tolerance, good finish, and mechanical property in specified tempers.
6083 alloy contains magnesium (~0.6‑1.4%), silicon (~0.4‑1.1%), along with traces of manganese, iron. Mechanical properties in T6 or T651 temper: tensile strength approximately 260‑330 MPa, yield strength ~220‑280 MPa; elongation ~8‑15%. Excellent hardness, excellent corrosion resistance, fair weldability and machinability.
