Chung Metal provides premium-performance Aluminium 5083 rods and bars from Da Nang for applications that demand superior corrosion resistance, especially marine and chemical environments. 5083 is a non-heat-treatable alloy predominantly alloyed with magnesium and trace elements of manganese and chromium. It provides excellent strength when in hardened form and greater resistance to industrial chemicals and saltwater. Our 5083 bars/rods are machined and extruded to high tolerance and are suitable for severe environments that are exposed to extreme conditions. Aluminium 5083 has ~4.0–4.9% magnesium, 0.4–1% manganese, 0.05–0.25% chromium, and trace silicon/iron. It is not heat-treatable but is work-hardened to high strength. Tensile strength: ~310–350 MPa, yield strength ~215–280 MPa, elongation ~10–20%. Seawater, chemical, and marine atmosphere resistance is excellent. Brinell hardness ~75 HB. High strength is maintained after welding and is used in pressure vessels and military vehicles. Excellent fatigue and stress-crack resistance.
