Chung Metal produces and distributes Aluminium 2014 bars and rods from Da Nang, Vietnam, meeting the needs of high-strength and machinability industries. As a copper-containing aluminum alloy, 2014 is one of the strongest wrought aluminum alloys and provides high fatigue life and high hardness following heat treatment. Our highly accurate 2014 bars and rods are suited for applications in aerospace, defense, and heavy machinery. Aluminium 2014 has around 4.4% copper, 0.8–1.2% silicon, 0.5–1% manganese, and trace amounts of magnesium. Heat-treatable with high strength, it has a tensile strength of ~450–530 MPa and yield strength ~300–400 MPa. Elongation is between 10–15%, and Brinell hardness is ~120–130 HB. Excellent machinability but poor corrosion resistance, particularly in sea water. Should not be welded unless special methods are adopted. Performs well in applications for static and dynamic load bearing.

To maintain Aluminium 2014 bars, regularly clean them with mild soap and water to prevent corrosion. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and extreme temperatures, and inspect for signs of fatigue or wear.
Aluminium 2014 bars and rods are not ideal for high-temperature applications. While they offer high strength, their performance decreases at elevated temperatures, limiting their suitability for environments above 150°C (302°F).
Aluminium 2014 rods are sized by their diameter, typically ranging from small (e.g., 6 mm) to large (e.g., 100 mm), and are available in various standard or custom lengths.
Aluminium 2014 rods and bars are applied in structural frameworks, engine blocks, truck chassis, missile components, and aerospace parts. Due to its machinability and strength, it is best applied in fasteners, bolts, and gears of heavy machinery. Industrially applied in tools, hydraulic cylinders, and those components with high mechanical stress. It is reliable in cyclical loading and is selected where welding is undesirable or protective coatings can be put on. Suitable for dry or controlled environments that demand structural integrity and resistance to fatigue.
