Chung Metal provides Stainless Steel 304 Hex Bars and Rods, the most versatile and common stainless steel alloy. Produced in Da Nang, Vietnam, 304 is an austenitic stainless steel containing great resistance to corrosion, ease in fabrication, and toughness. Our hex bars are perfect for mechanical fasteners, architectural elements, and industrial machinery.
304 has 18–20% chromium, 8–10.5% nickel, and carbon ≤ 0.08%. It provides tensile strength of 515–720 MPa, yield strength ~205 MPa, and elongation ≥ 40%. It is non-magnetic in the annealed state and can work well in a variety of oxidizing and mildly corrosive environments.

Standard sizes for SS 304 hex bars/rods typically range from 1/8" to 6" in diameter. Custom sizes, lengths, and finishes are generally available upon request, depending on the supplier's capabilities and production methods.
SS 304 hex bars/rods can be welded and fabricated into complex shapes with relative ease. It offers good weldability, but pre-welding surface preparation and proper techniques are necessary to avoid distortion or degradation of material properties.
SS 304 offers good strength and corrosion resistance, suitable for many applications. Compared to other grades like SS 316, it has slightly lower corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments, but SS 304 is more cost-effective and widely used.
