316L Stainless Steel has a chemical composition of about 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, with ≤ 0.03% carbon content. It possesses better corrosion resistance, especially to pitting and crevice corrosion. The mechanical properties are tensile strength = 485–620 MPa, yield strength = 170–275 MPa, and elongation = ≥ 40%. 316L is non-magnetic in the annealed state and maintains excellent ductility, toughness, and weldability even under aggressive conditions and high-stress applications.
