Stainless Steel 321 Hollow Bars consist mainly of 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and titanium (minimum 5 times the carbon). Low carbon content is used to provide resistance against intergranular corrosion. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of approximately 515–700 MPa, yield strength ~205–275 MPa, and elongation ~40%. The mechanical strength of the material does not decrease at elevated temperatures and possesses good oxidation resistance up to 870°C. Grade 321 is non-magnetic and maintains its austenitic microstructure even after long-term exposure to high temperatures.
