Chung Metal’s Da Nang-produced Stainless Steel 430 round bars and rods are cost-effective but dependable stainless components for general corrosion resistance and mild exposures. SS 430 is ferritic stainless steel that has good formability, magneticity, and average corrosion resistance. Our rods and round bars are made with consistent diameter, fine surface texture, and precise dimensions. In all ornamental, architectural, or mildly corrosive industrial applications, these SS 430 products provide value and performance. They represent a cost-effective option where the utilization of high alloyed grades is not required, with good strength and lifespan under normal exposures.
SS 430 has approximately 16‑18 % chromium, low carbon (<0.12 %), negligible nickel, minor manganese and silicon. It’s ferritic with excellent magnetic permeability. Tensile strength ~450‑550 MPa; yield strength ~200‑300 MPa; elongation approximately 20‑30 %. Hardness moderate (~150‑200 HB). Excellent oxidation resistance at moderately elevated temperatures (up to ≈700‑800 °C), although less resistant to chloride corrosion than austenitic types. Low cost because of less nickel; excellent thermal conductivity; stable microstructure; moderate toughness.
