Chung Metal offers high-quality Stainless Steel 316 Bars and Rods with a balanced blend of formability, corrosion resistance, and strength. Manufactured in our plant in Da Nang, Vietnam, 316 is a very common molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. Chung Metal offers 316 bars and rods in various sizes and finishes to be used in marine, chemical, architectural, and industrial applications. Our quality control processes ensure precise tolerances and consistent properties, making us a trusted supplier for demanding applications.
316 stainless steel contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and up to 0.08% carbon. It provides tensile strength 515–690 MPa, yield strength 205 MPa, and elongation ≥ 40%. The molybdenum provides pitting resistance in chloride and acidic environments. It is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and has excellent formability and toughness.

Stainless Steel 316 contains molybdenum, which enhances its resistance to pitting and corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments, making it perfect for marine, chemical processing, and food industry applications.
Yes, Stainless Steel 316 is highly weldable and is commonly used in welding-intensive applications. Its low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation, ensuring strong, durable welds.
Stainless Steel 316 offers superior corrosion resistance compared to other alloys like 304, especially in aggressive environments like seawater and harsh chemicals, thanks to its molybdenum content.
316 bars and rods find extensive applications in marine constructions, chemical plant equipment, food processing, and medical equipment. Uses involve fasteners, springs, shafts, pump components, and building structures subjected to saltwater or industrial chemicals. 316 is particularly prized in seashore locations, water treatment facilities, and pharmaceutical equipment for resistance to rust and sanitary surface finish.
