It’s a martensitic alloy that can be hardened with tensile strength between 700–950 MPa and yield strength of 450–650 MPa after heat treatment. Elongation is between 15–20%. SS 410 is ferromagnetic in every condition and can be hardened by quenching and tempering for improved wear resistance. Its corrosion resistance is fair, and hence it finds its best applications in less harsh environments or where mechanical performance is demanded.
