Stainless Steel 347 is generally 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, stabilized with niobium (columbium) for improved resistance to carbide formation. Carbon is ≤ 0.08%. It offers tensile strength of 500–700 MPa, yield strength of 200–300 MPa, and elongation of approximately 35–40%. The alloy is stable and resistant to corrosion at high temperatures, particularly in the range of 425–900°C. It is non-magnetic and not prone to loss of ductility and toughness upon welding or exposure to heat for long periods. SS 347 is suitable for use in thermal stability and stress structural strength applications.
