This higher-carbon variant of SS 321 is engineered for greater strength and creep resistance at high temperatures. 321H is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel that’s renowned for its outstanding thermal stability as well as corrosion resistance in intergranular applications. Chung Metal’s 321H bars are manufactured with consistent quality and are suitable for critical uses under high-heat conditions. These rods come in different sizes and finishes and are appropriate for welding, machining, and other structural uses that call for long-term strength at elevated temperatures.
321H Stainless Steel generally consists of 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and 0.04–0.10% carbon, with titanium as an added stabilization agent. It has improved high-temperature strength and creep resistance over the general 321. Tensile strength varies from 550–750 MPa, yield strength from 210–300 MPa, and elongation is approximately 30–40%. The alloy is dependable in temperatures up to 900°C and resists intergranular corrosion under sustained heat exposure. It is non-magnetic, weldable, and maintains toughness upon welding or long-term thermal exposure and is a first choice material for high service conditions.
