Chung Metal’s stainless steel 455 bars/rods are supplied from Da Nang with high corrosion resistance and hardness, supported with reliability and performance. SS 455 is a martensitic stainless steel that can be heat treated to yield high-strength components. We provide the same in round, square, and hex forms, precision-machined and heat-treated or otherwise, with tolerance assumption of close dimensional. The bars/rods are produced under control for impact resistance, hardness, and toughness. Clients in power generation, industrial blades, and mechanical components with high loads use Chung Metal’s SS 455 for long‑lasting, high‑stress purposes.
SS 455 is a martensitic stainless steel that contains moderate chromium (≈11.5‑14.5 %), a carbon content adequate for hardenability (~0.7‑1.2 %), a bit of manganese, silicon, and traces of molybdenum or nickel depending on specification. Its mechanical characteristics provide high tensile strength (800‑1100 MPa after heat treatment), high hardness (HRC to ~50‑60), yield strength also very high (~600‑900 MPa), but ductility (elongation) modest (~10‑20 %). It is amenable to quenching and tempering, maintaining toughness with the development of high strength, although corrosion resistance is moderate (poorer than in austenitic alloys).

Stainless Steel 455 Bars and Rods offer excellent tensile and yield strength, superior corrosion resistance, and good ductility. These properties make them ideal for high-stress and corrosive environments.
They are widely used in aerospace, marine, chemical processing, power generation, and manufacturing industries for components like turbine parts, fasteners, and structural applications.
SS 455 bars/rods are applied in those applications where a high strength and wear resistance is necessary: cutting tools, turbine blades, shafts, bearings, and industrial tooling where hardness is needed. Also in shafts and valves that have high mechanical load, and parts exposed to cyclic stresses. Due to its capability of being heat‑treated, it’s used for springs, high pressure parts, and blades in power plants. Although less resistant to corrosion than the austenitic grades, in mildly corrosive or protected environments SS 455 offers top performance and life span if properly treated.
